Sadly, on April 1st 2017, after battling with cancer for one and a half years, Janet Kanini Ikua  succumbed to lung cancer. The below story is a testament to her commitment to soldier on, as narrated to Parents Magazine Editor Lily Rono-Waweru in 2016 .

Janet was battling lung cancer, and it was thought that she was progressing well.

In death, Janet Kanini-Ikua lives on in all of us “I remember watching her on the Churchill Show happy and grateful to everyone,” said @Shiku on Twitter.

Her chances of survival were poor, but she went on to beat the cancer through prayers, a positive attitude and treatment. The charming TV presenter is now actively involved in creating cancer awareness and is planning to start a cancer foundation.
